The most magical time of the year has arrived, and Puglia’s towns are ready to welcome visitors from all over Italy and Europe. Among them, one place stands out above all: Alberobello, the UNESCO‑listed capital of the trulli. Visiting Alberobello at Christmas 2024 is an experience you won’t want to miss. Let our drivers take care of the journey while you relax and enjoy the ride into the heart of the Itria Valley.
What to Do in Alberobello at Christmas 2024
The Christmas program “We Are in Trulli – Winter Edition” is packed with events for both adults and children.
Artistic Light Displays
Until January 6, the districts of Aia Piccola and Villa Belvedere come alive with enchanting artistic lights. These installations tell the story of the Nativity through mesmerizing visual effects — a magical way to experience Christmas.
Christmas Markets
In Piazza del Popolo, the traditional Christmas markets await. You’ll find handcrafted decorations, local artisan creations, and a tempting food area filled with Apulian holiday treats like pettole, nougat, and cartellate.
Ice Skating
Children will love the ice‑skating rink, where little skaters can glide across the ice and enjoy a festive winter moment in the land of the trulli.
Santa’s House
Every day at 4 p.m., Santa Claus welcomes children to his little house in Largo Trevisani. He’ll be there until January 7, ready to listen to wishes and spread Christmas cheer

“Circo Bestiale”
On December 14 in Largo Martellota, street performers bring the “Circo Bestiale” show to life. Inspired by old‑style circuses — but with actors playing the animals — the performance includes magic tricks, juggling, and fun for all ages.
Life Light Festival
From December 19 to January 12, the trulli become the stars of one of the most spectacular events of the season. Their iconic cone roofs are illuminated with artistic projections, transforming them into glowing works of art. The Life Light Festival is curated by the creative collective Ocubo.
Living Nativity Scene
From December 26 to 29, the Aia Piccola district hosts the 54th edition of the Living Nativity Scene. The historic center turns into a small Bethlehem, with actors and detailed historical reconstructions bringing the story of Jesus’ birth to life.

Winter Concert
On December 23 at the Bibliocenter, the Winter Concert fills the evening with Christmas music — a must for anyone who loves holiday melodies.
The Befana’s Descent
To close the festivities, the Befana — the beloved old woman who brings sweets to good children — will descend from the trulli on January 5.
A charming and symbolic event that delights both kids and adults.
These are just some of the highlights of Alberobello’s Christmas program. The world‑famous town — and future Capital of Culture 2027 — enchants visitors with its beauty and uniqueness. Don’t miss the chance to experience the trulli in their magical holiday version.
