Events You Won’t Want to Miss

Christmas Markets & Light Displays

Start your visit with a stroll through the Christmas markets along Via Neapolis, Via Pompeo Sarnelli, and Piazza Aldo Moro. You’ll find handmade decorations, unique gift ideas, and plenty of local treats. As you wander from stall to stall, the artistic lights draped across the town center create a magical, lace‑like glow above the streets.

Christmas Park

On December 9–10–14–15–21–22, the “Pinocchio” Christmas Park opens its doors to children eager to meet Santa Claus. He’ll be there listening to wishes and spreading joy — and maybe, just maybe, turning those wishes into gifts under the tree.

On December 13, Polignano celebrates Santa Lucia with food stands in Piazza Aldo Moro. Expect pettole, fritters, and panzerotti — irresistible classics of Apulian street food. The evening ends with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

A Walk Through the Old Town

Until January 6, the old town is dressed in full Christmas charm. Garlands, small trees, and warm lights decorate the narrow alleys. As you explore, you’ll reach terraces overlooking the sea — breathtaking viewpoints where the winter breeze meets the scent of mulled wine.

Vignola Theatre

Music lovers can enjoy a Christmas concert by the Bari Metropolitan City Symphony Orchestra on December 14. The event, titled “Natal’è”, celebrates traditional holiday melodies. On December 16, the theatre hosts the play “Aquanne sinde a vote… è arrivato di nuovo Natale”, presented by the Araba Fenice association.

Santa Claus is coming… from the Sea

On December 24 at 11 a.m., Santa Claus makes a spectacular entrance — arriving directly from the sea. No snow, no sleigh… just cliffs, waves, and pure Mediterranean flair.
