Discovering Bacco nelle Gnostre

First of all, what does “Gnostre” mean? The word refers to a small square or courtyard. The historic center of Noci is characterized by the presence of these gnostre, which transform into an urban stage where lovers of good food and wine gather under the sign of the god Bacchus.

This event, now a cult among autumn festivals in Puglia, combines food and wine offerings with artistic and cultural experiences.

Gastronomic Offerings

The highlight is “Il piatto di Bacco” curated by the restaurant Il Briale. It comes in two versions:

● Saturday and Sunday evening: orecchiette pasta with turnip tops pesto, pancetta, and crumbled bread with a hint of walnuts.

● Sunday lunch: fricelli pasta with braised Podolica beef and cardoncelli mushrooms, blended with wild fennel cream.

Other delicacies include roasted chestnuts, “Bacco’s sandwich”, and various local products showcased in the “Extramurale dei sapori”. In Piazza Garibaldi, sweet lovers can enjoy chocolate provided by the Dulciar factory.
